Monoprice 110010 Headphones Review

Monoprice 110010 –An affordable pair of headphones for the casual listener. Sleek design with good bass and mids, and active noise cancellation, make this a cool pair of headphones for the most part. But do these oprice 110010 actually deserve to be on your ears?

Let’s find out!

But before we dig in, we need to unbox this thing.

When you open up the box of your Monoprice 110010, you’ll find a pair of Monoprice Noise Cancelling headphones, a Hard Carrying case, AAA battery, 2 Audio cables, 1/8″ to 1/4″ Adapter, Airline Adapter, and a User Manual.

It’s not an overwhelming unboxing experience, but considering the price, you get a lot out of the box. So kudos to Monoprice for this.

So without further ado, let me give an unabridged review of the 110010.

How does Monoprice 110010 Sound?

When buying a pair of headphones, you want to know how they sound. Because no matter how cool and stylish these look, if the sound isn’t any good, the headphones would be worthless. With that in mind, can we call the 110010 a worthless pair of headphones?

I’d say No. These headphones sound fairly nice. When testing out, I noticed the bass right away. Maybe because almost all of my playlist is filled with bassy songs, but that’s beside the point. As Darth Wader would’ve put it, the bass is strong with this one.

Besides a good bass, most vocals and instruments lie in the mid-range, so having a strong mid is essential. This pair of headphones doesn’t make a great impression here, and I didn’t expect it to either. A headphone of this price range isn’t competing for the best mids in the market. Still, the mid-range is bearable. You can hear the vocals and all the instruments – although a bit muddled together. This may be due to the closed-back design – bit more on this below.

The high-end –the treble, if you may– go high to a certain degree. Giving the noprice 110010 credit where credit is due, the overall sound is balanced. You can enjoy a large variety of songs and movies without any compromise on sound quality.

Does Monoprice 110010 have any style?

The Monoprice 110010 is a fairly stylish pair of headphones with a dark gray color scheme. This color scheme gives them a premium feel. On the ear cups, headband and padding, you will notice black accents that add to the style. The ear cups have a glossy finish with Monoprice branding. You can wear this over-the-ear pair of headphones anywhere.

Speaking about the ear cups, these are relatively small when compared to other over-the-ear headphones. These ear cups are somewhat breathable, but I won’t suggest long listening sessions, especially in summer. While we’re at it, the ear cups do sit comfortably at your head without pushing it too much. And as time passes, the headphone will break in and adjust to your head shape for even better fit.

Is the build quality any good?

Coming to the build quality, it is very good for the price. The Monoprice 110010 has a rubberized headband with a metal frame which makes it a solid pair of headphones. However, the pair does creak a lot which can be a nuisance at times.

The ear cups are rotatable, meaning these can be adjusted for the perfect fit and can be stored easily without taking too much space.

The button layout is quite simple. You get a noise cancellation button with volume controls. When tested, these buttons worked without any glitch. Speaking about the controls, we have an ok mic here too. It doesn’t actively isolate your voice from surrounding noise but can record it clearly in quiet surroundings.

Is the cable detachable?

Right off the bat, these headphones do support Bluetooth connectivity. If you’re someone who doesn’t like their wired headphones, these might be a good pick for you. However, if you like your wires, these will work for you too. Actually, Monoprice 110010 comes with a detachable cable that you can use when your headphones are running out of juice – which may not happen very often.

About the topic of wired headphones, I hold some strong opinions. I personally believe wired headphones remove a number of latency issues, especially in games. So if you’re a gamer, use the wire. For casual users, do use the Bluetooth connectivity for its convenience.

Can you travel with the Monoprice 110010?

We can divide this question into two types. One would be traveling without using these headphones. The other would be traveling while using these.

About the first type, yes. You can travel with these headphones. These come with a sturdy carrying case which you can put in your travel bag easily. It’ll protect your headphones from damage.

Now coming to whether you can use these during your courageous voyages. Absolutely! The 110010 has an amazing battery life of 52 hours. You can listen to Eminem’s huge catalogue and still have some juice left, so that’s something.

But these headphones are to be used in a relatively stable environment. If you use these during exercise, they will fall off relatively easily. So bear that in mind.

With all of this in hindsight, would I suggest this pair of headphones?

Kinda. If you’re a true audiophile, I’d refrain from suggesting these headphones. Although the

sound reproduction is good, it’s not audiophile level. If you’re looking for a
budget audiophile pair of headphones, look for one in the semi-open class. You
have a couple of good contenders there, from big names like AKG to Samson

However,

You are the one who needs to buy these if you prefer long battery life and a good listening
experience, accompanied by a stylish finish.

This was my review of the Monoprice 110010. I had these on the whole time while writing
this review and didn’t feel any fatigue. (Maybe my ears are small
